The first advertisement featuring DiCaprio will be launched later this year.
Most of the donations from the deal will be earmarked for environmental causes. “TAG Heuer and I will be making donations to some of the most influential and effective environmental organizations around,” said DiCaprio during the signing ceremony. “Each and every day, these organizations are doing important work to ensure our planet’s resources future generations. Hopefully, our donations will help expand their reach and raise their profile.”
DiCaprio’s has a longstanding involvement in environmental philanthropy. He speaks regularly on ecological issues and is a prominent board member of the Natural Resources Defense Council. In 2007, DiCaprio co-wrote, co-produced and narrated “The 11th Hour”, a documentary on the state of the environment.
